SkillShare Leadership
A board of directors, elected each January at the Annual Member Meeting, manages the organization. Any SkillShare member with a sincere desire to help further SkillShare’s goals can serve on the board.
2012 Board of Directors
-
Board President: Lisa Dicksteen
“A transplanted New Yorker loving living in Boulder for six years now. I have enjoyed meeting a lot of different people and making exchanges for things ranging from a spiritual house cleaning to massage and resume review. I am the principal of LMN Editorial, a writing/editing and public relations/marketing consulting firm.”
-
Vice President:Tatiana Casey
“I am a relatively new SkillShare member and look forward to working with this organization to create community for myself, my wonderful daughter, and the rest of Nederland, where I live, and the larger area in which SkillShare operates.”
-
Secretary: Nikk Henderson
“I am the mother of twin seven-year-old boys and a three-year-old girl, which takes up most of my life, and I am studying for my maters in nonprofit management, which lends itself nicely to my work at SkillShare.”
-
Treasurer: Howard Lambert
“I joined SkillShare when the organization first began back in 2003 and have been involved in its development ever since, except for an 18 month break. I’m now back on the board and working as the Primary Coordinator to help make SkillShare even better. I see SkillShare as a great way to meet the challenge of the coming Great Waves of Change, as described in a book by Marshall Vian Summers. As things get more challenging, helping each another will become more important. What an opportunity for us to share our skills with each another.”
-
Member-at-Large: Helmi Shepard
“I’m an ESL teacher at heart currently manning the phones at IBM. I am passionate about learning other languages and speak French, Spanish and a little Mandarin. I love the tolerant and spiritual atmosphere of Boulder. Joining SkillShare seemed a natural step to take towards my goal of living more simply and becoming part of an interdependent community..”
-
Member-at-Large: Steven Morris
“I am a relatively new SkillShare member but I have a lot of experience with alternative and local currencies. I am the Computer Buddy Coordinator and am helping Howard with the many responsibilities related to keeping our membership roles current. I enjoy SteamPunk and am a DJ too.”
- In addition, there are numerous committees that labor to make SkillShare work. These include Computer Buddies, Potlucks, Membership, Outreach, Primary Coordinator, and more.
